Despite facing significant challenges, including a severe speech impediment and a learning disability that made high school graduation a struggle, Dr. Robert Ferrell has embraced failure as a stepping stone to success.
His 25-year career as a periodontist and dental surgeon is marked not only by technical expertise but also by a sharp sense of humor—he often jokes that everyone has a speech impediment when his hands are in their mouth.
Dr. Ferrell is also driven by a passion for service. He founded Awaken, a charitable foundation delivering critical dental care to underprivileged communities globally. Dr. Ferrell serves as CEO of Liberate as well, a company dedicated to empowering sustainable growth.
Dr. Ferrell also co-founded Accepted, a mental health clinic, and Ascend, a private high school in Ogden based on mentored education. For over two decades, Robert has mentored and inspired thousands of young adults and ecclesiastical leaders as a professional coach, leader, and speaker.
Fluent in Spanish from years in the Dominican Republic and Peru, Robert’s global perspective matches his ambitions. When not driving growth or organizing humanitarian efforts, he explores the world with his wife and nine kids. Whether skiing, surfing, or boxing, Robert loves to have fun and stay active with his family.

Dr. Ferrell saw this firsthand during a humanitarian trip to Mali, Africa. While treating just a small group of individuals who urgently needed care, something remarkable happened. Those he helped went back to their village, sharing how we could be trusted, how we showed love and kindness, and how we simply wanted to serve.
By the next day, hundreds of villagers came seeking help, and we had the opportunity to positively impact their lives. It was a vivid example of how goodwill and compassion can ripple outward—starting small, yet having the power to reach far and wide.
